  • Tungsten Wires

    Tungsten wire is made of pure tungsten metal or doped tungsten wire by powder metallurgy and plastic processing methods (such as wire drawing mould, electrolytic polishing and other processes). Tungsten wire has high melting point, high density, high strength, high anodic rate, low vapour pressure, slow evaporation, high temperature, abrasion resistance, impact resistance, acid and alkali resistance and other characteristics. Tungsten filament is divided into ordinary tungsten filament and non-sag tungsten filament. Ordinary tungsten filament is mainly used in incandescent lamps, tungsten halogen lamps and other electric light sources in a variety of luminescent tungsten filaments, which is the purpose of tungsten filament initial invention and production.

    Tungsten wire is a thin and flexible wire made primarily from tungsten. Tungsten wire has exceptional properties, including high melting point, excellent electrical conductivity, and outstanding strength at high temperatures.


    Composition: Tungsten wire usually consists of pure tungsten metal of very high purity to meet specific performance requirements. In some cases, it also contains small amounts of rare earth elements to enhance its performance.


    High Melting Point: Tungsten wire can withstand extremely high temperatures without melting or deforming.


    Applications:

       - Photovoltaic industry: Tungsten diamond wire: In the case that the quality of diamond powder, production process, coating thickness and other factors are the same, compared with the mainstream carbon steel diamond wire, tungsten diamond wire has the advantages of smaller wire diameter (26-35 μm), longer service life (about ten times longer than that of the carbon steel diamond wire), and lower wire breakage rate (tungsten wire tensile strength is higher than that of steel wire under the same wire diameter).

       - Electrical Contacts: Tungsten wire is used in electrical contacts and electrodes, particularly in applications involving high temperatures or harsh environments.

       - Ionization Sources: Tungsten wire is used in mass spectrometers and ionization sources for its ability to withstand high temperatures and maintain electrical conductivity in vacuum chambers.

       - Aerospace: Tungsten wire is used in aerospace applications, such as electrical wiring for spacecraft and high-temperature sensors.

       - Medical Devices: Tungsten wire is used in medical devices, such as X-ray tubes, where its high melting point and electrical conductivity are advantageous.


    Ductility: Tungsten wire is quite malleable and can be drawn into fragile wires while maintaining its strength and other properties. This property allows for the production of fine, flexible cables used in various applications.


    Tungsten wire's unique combination of properties makes it valuable in various industries, particularly those requiring high-temperature and high-stress applications.


    Physical properties:

    (1)Diameter: 15um min. Diameter tolerance, winding property, tensile strength, straightness, and high-temperature properties as per GT/B4181-2017. 

    (2)Surface properties: Smooth surface without mould spots, cracks, burr, pit or groove. The dark wire appears evenly black with light blue permitted, and the white wire appears silver white or silver grey.
